A successful night for the E's, Hamlet and Towners

Enfield progress in the Velocity Cup, Enfield Town and Dulwich Hamlet win in the Reposs Isthmian Women's Cup- Hamlet scoring NINE

The Velocity Cup Second Round saw Enfield host Bowers & Pitsea at the R&D Advisors Stadium, and after eighty goalless minutes the match suddenly became exciting, with three goals in the closing stages. It looked very much as if Bowers were going through when Manny Oluwasemo gave them an eighty first minute lead, and it looked very much the same as the match entered its last minute, but the E's decided otherwise. First, Caleb Steel levelled on his debut, and then as both sides mentally prepared for penalties, another debutant, Dylan Florence (who we suspect wasn't named after two characters from The Magic Roundabout), popped up with a last-gasp winner.

The First Round of the Reposs Isthmian Women's Cup continued with two matches within a stonesthrow of each other. Enfield Town Ladies of the London South East Regional Women's Football League welcomed Bowers and Pitsea Ladies of the Eastern Region Women's Football League Premier Division, and the visitors were ahead within five minutes, Whitney Locke rounding the keeper and putting her side ahead. That was the high point for the visitors, as Mia Obeng levelled and, just before the end, Nuala McKevitt got a winner for the hosts.

Up the road from Donkey Lane, we had a contest between Cheshunt and Dulwich Hamlet, but it turned out to be something of a mismatch. The Ambers Ladies were in decent form coming into the match, but were unable to live with the intensity of the side in pink and blue, who ran out nine-one winners. The Hamlet goals came from Lacey (2), Monkman, Saylor (2- both penalties), Gall, Price, Searle and Kafoero-Roberts.
