Another Rook becomes a Hawk

Conlon the latest to head to the seaside

Whitehawk have confirmed what Lewes told us on Friday, as Ronnie Conlon has signed on at the Enclosed Ground.

Ronnie himself confirmed his departure on social media on Thursday, stating:

'After eight brilliant years at Lewes FC I have decided to move on. I’d like to wish the club all the best for next season and the future! I’d also like to say a big thank you to the Fans, Staff and Players past and present, who have helped to make the last 8 years so great!'

The Rooks gave a summary of his Dripping Pan career:

'Ronnie was a graduate of the Lewes Academy and made his first team debut against Harrow Borough in April 2015. Conlon went on to play over 150 games for the Rooks, scoring some memorable goals, none more so that at Wingate & Finchley in February 2020, with a screamer from the edge of the both. Ronnie always played with a smile on his face and never let the side down.'

The player reunites with Ross Standen, these days the Hawks boss, who was delighted to welcome him to the seaside:

“We’re over the moon to get Ronnie to sign, having worked with Ronnie since he was 17, he will be a great addition to the club on and off the field. A young, local, established player at our level and importantly the level above."
