A South Central and Cup weekend

We''ve a dozen Pitching In Isthmian South Central sides in Cup action- over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

Three Bridges were delighted to pick up three points on Monday, their first win of their first Premier campaign coming against the then leaders, Carshalton Athletic. That makes them two unbeaten and they’ll hope for a third as Kingstonian make the trip TONIGHT. The K’s won’t make it easy; their only loss in six matches this season came via a penalty shootout. 

Onto Saturday.

AFC Portchester welcome Portland United to CHICHESTER CITY, the ‘hosts’ still waiting for work on their own ground to be completed. The Royals have lost only once this season despite the handicap of playing away from home constantly, whilst their visitors, from Pitching In Southern Division One South, have won their last three matches, including victory over Portchester’s neighbours Moneyfields in the last round. 

AFC Stoneham travel to take on Pitching in Southern Premier side Basingstoke Town. Stoneham have managed four victories so far this season in Cup competitions despite not picking up any League points so far, whilst Stoke have had a rather mixed start but were victorious against Bracknell Town on Monday. 

Top flight Burgess Hill Town will be put to the test by the visit of Jersey Bulls. Hill are five unbeaten, whilst Bulls have started the South Central season positively too, their only defeat coming on penalties in the FA Trophy. This one kicks off early, at 1.30 PM.

Egham Town are the hosts for Chatham Town. The Sarnies have actually won four of their six competitive fixtures so far despite a rather lowly League position, saving their best form for thew Cups; whilst the Chats hope to bounce back from two League defeats in a row.

Hayes and Yeading United play host to Camberley Town. Hayes look to be putting an inconsistent start to the season behind them, having won their last two matches in League and Trophy whilst scoring four goals on each occasion. Their visitors, who sit in mid table in Combined Counties Premier South, travel with only one defeat from their last five. 

Hendon, unbeaten in all competitions until last Saturday’s Trophy loss at Hastings, welcome Essex Senior League side Hullbridge Sports. The visitors have had a fine start to their season, sitting third in the table, and will be confident after winning six in a row in League and Cups. 

Dartford travel around the M25 to Woking, where they take on Westfield. The Darts have four wins from six so far and defeated Chatham Town on Monday, whilst their hosts sit in fourth place in Pitching In Isthmian South Central, and walloped Egham Town on Monday. Field have been more successful on the road than at Woking Park so far, however. 

Petts Wood & Holmesdale of the SCEFL Premier are the hosts for Windsor & Eton- and after hammering Raynes Park Vale in the last round the Step Five side shouldn’t be underestimated. Windsor won on the road in Ascot on Monday, and have won four of their six competitive fixtures so far.

Three of our sides are then in Cup action on Sunday, two of them against each other.

Ascot United will welcome Step Five SCFL side Pagham to the Racecourse Ground. The Yellas have played six of their seven competitive matches so far at home, winning four of them and losing only once, that defeat coming on Monday against Windsor & Eton. Pagham will be no pushovers, having won eight of their ten competitive fixtures so far- indeed they haven’t lost since the opening day. 

Southall welcome Cobham to Hayes. After six matches in all competitions The All remain unbeaten, whilst their visitors have three wins and three defeats to their name- but they haven’t yet played a home League match.

Saturday also sees three matches in Pitching In Isthmian South Central. 

Leaders Winchester City could open up a three point gap if they can defeat Bedfont Sports, although a victory for the travelling West Londoners would see them go level on points with their hosts. Bognor Regis Town start the weekend in third but any slip for City could see the Rocks take over at the top if they get a positive result at tenth place Raynes Park Vale, whilst fourth from bottom Harrow Borough and third from bottom Littlehampton Town meet with both sides looking for a first win of the campaign.
