A trio for Sports

A trio for Sports

Carl Oblitey, Jack Timberlake and Joe Waight land in Bedfont

Bedfont Sports had three new names in their squad as they defeated Hartley Wintney on Saturday- and one of them marked his debut with a last minute goal.

Carl Oblitey steps up from Corinthian-Casuals, these days in the Combined Counties Premier. He was with us last season, with South Park Reigate, where he played twelve times and scored three goals after stepping up from Chipstead. He was in sparkling form for the Chips, scoring eighteen goals in twenty nine matches.

He previously turned out for Epsom & Ewell where he was the top scorer during the 24-25 season. He left the club in the summer of last year after fifty appearances and seventeen goals.

He has also spent time at Welling Town and Redhill.

Joe Waight started the campaign at Hayes & Yeading United, scoring three times in thirteen appearances.

The forward played twenty times for Hanwell Town last season, returning to the UK after time in the USA.

He was rather prolific for New Salamis during the 23-24 season, scoring sixteen goals in twenty three games.  He joined the Salamina midway through the campaign after being similarly prolific for Wembley in the Combined Counties League, and was previously at Reading City- and with Reading as an Academy player. He has also spent time with Aveley, Haringey Borough and Bowers and Pitsea.

Jack Timberlake was with Hanworth Villa last season, and indeed this season, playing three times so far in Pitching In Southern Premier South following twenty two appearances and five goals last season, when he scored their last goal of the campaign in a Play Off Final win over Westfield.

He had some time with Badshot Lea during the 24-25 season, on loan from Slough Town.

Jack was with Flackwell Heath when spotted by Reading and offered a two year Scholarship, and he moved to Slough in the summer of 2024, making a first team debut soon afterwards.

As well as playing for the Baggies, he had loan spells at Uxbridge, Northwood and Basingstoke Town during 24-25. Following his departure from Slough he spent time with Langley.
