Ajayi and Ossai are new at the Bay
Josh Ajayi and Tariq Ossai arrive at Herne Bay
Herne Bay have announced the signings of Josh Ajayi and Tariq Ossai.
Josh comes in from Faversham Town, for whom he signed in December last year. he made twenty appearances with three goals last season, and has made seven league appearances with one goal this season.
He joined the Lilywhites from Ramsgate, where he played eleven times last season, scoring twice, after playing a big part in 24-25's promotion, scoring nine times in fifty appearances.
The 23-24 season saw him play for Erith and Belvedere and Sevenoaks Town.
The former Crystal Palace youth first came to our attention with the Rams, arriving on the Kent coast just as the pandemic closed down a second season in a row in October 2020, before going on to play forty one times the following season, scoring thirteen goals- including a hat trick against Phoenix Sports. Three more goals and twenty more appearances followed before he stepped up to National League South, signing for Dover Athletic in January 2023.
Tariq was also with Faversham last season, making twenty eight appearances. That followed forty five as he helped the Lilywhites to promotion during 24-25.
This season has seen him at Margate, where he has played nine times in the League.
Tariq started his career at Crystal Palace, where he captained the Under 16 and Under 18 sides. Following his release from Selhurst Park he ended up at Thamesmead Town, but sadly found himself without a club when they folded, but made a name for himself at Chippenham Town before a move to Ashford United midway through the 2019-20 campaign. He remained with the Nuts and Bolts until the closing stages of the 23-24 campaign.
