Azeez makes a scoring start for Bay
Ade Azeez swaps Welling for Herne Bay- temporarily- and gets the winner
Herne Bay welcomed loan signing Ade Azeez to their squad as they took on Ashford United on Tuesday evening- and he marked his debut with the only goal of the match.
Ade makes a move- temporarily- from Welling United. He came through the youth setup at Charlton Athletic, and as well as playing for the Addicks had loan time at Wycombe Wanderers, Dagenham & Redbridge, Torquay United and Leyton Orient. Upon leaving The Valley he signed for AFC Wimbledon, and went on to play for Partick Thistle and Cambridge United. A loan spell with Dover Athletic followed, before a move to Wales, to play for Newport County. He then had another spell at Dover, spent a season with Dartford, before a move to Welling United for the 22-23 campaign. He scored eighteen goals for the Darts and seventeen for Welling.
Forward Ade was then Gary McCann's first signing for Billericay Town, in the summer of 2023, and he made twenty three appearances and scored eight goals during the 23-24 season before suffering a serious injury. During the 24-25 season he played thirteen times for the Blues before a loan spell at Sittingbourne, where he scored seven goals in eighteen matches as the Brickies reached the South East Promotion Final.
A spell at Hemel Hempstead Town followed at the start of last season, and then he rejoined Welling in January. He made twenty appearances with four goals last season, and has scored twice in eight appearances this season.
