Carey out, Altendorff in at Hastings
Manager swap at Hastings United, as Dave Altendorff takes over
Hastings United have announced the departure of manager Lee Carey, and the appointment of his replacement, Dave Altendorff.
Carey took over in the summer, but departs with the club occupying a relegation position.
As a player, he came through the ranks at Brighton and Hove Albion, and played for a number of mainly Sussex based clubs after spending time at Tonbridge Angels. His time at Hastings was particularly notable for helping the team to promotion and captaining it on the famous FA Cup run in 2012-13, a season which saw United reach the Third Round before eventually falling to defeat against Middlesbrough.
Lee also turned out for Horsham, Lewes, Met Police, Shoreham and Crowborough Athletic.
Dave Altendorff was previously in charge at Lancing and, briefly, at Whitehawk last season after stepping up from the Assistant Manager role.
Dave managed Lancing to their most successful season ever in 23-24. He was previously Head Coach of the Lancers during the 2019/20 season, and has also been Head of Football at Ringmer AFC, Head Coach at Newhaven FC and manager at Loxwood FC.
