Champions in numbers 25-26: Three Bridges
We look at Bridges triumph- in numbers
Three Bridges have had a magnificent season, deserved winners of Pitching In Isthmian South East. These are the stats that matter!
96- the number of points achieved- eleven more than runners up Croydon Athletic. Only Maldon & Tiptree and Felixstowe and Walton United got more across our League, with Folkestone Invicta and Leatherhead also collecting the same number as Bridges
124- the number of goals scored, more than any other side in the Division; indeed more than any other side in the League! AFC Whyteleafe were the second top scorers across the entire League, with one hundred and nine. Folkestone Invicta and Leatherhead managed one hundred and two
80- Bridges positive goal difference, very much the best in the entire League
44- the number of goals conceded, the second best defensive record in the Division after Jersey Bulls. Across the League, only Hanworth Villa, Jersey Bulls, Folkestone Invicta, Chatham Town, Leatherhead, Maldon & Tiptree and Felixstowe and Walton United conceded fewer
1- the number of times Bridges lost on their own patch- across the entire Pitching In Isthmian League only Malden & Tiptree could better that
31- the number of goals scored by Noel Leighton, the highest number across the entire Pitching In Isthmian League. Remarkably, Reece Hallard came second in the entire League list with twenty nine- and indeed would have shared the golden boot or won it outright in any other division. Charlie Bennett’s twenty three put him at thirteenth across the entire League, whilst across the Division these three players finished first, second and sixth
231- Bridges average attendance, up from one hundred and forty four in 2024-25
611- the number who turned up to watch Bridges draw with Croydon Athletic on April 18th
30- the number of victories, matched only by Leatherhead, Maldon & Tiptree and Felixstowe and Walton United across the entire league
1— The highest position that Bridges have reached in Step Four, and the highest they’ve reached in their history.
1- Also the number of times they’ve reached the Sussex Senior Cup Final- and again, it’s this season! Perhaps more silverware is on the horizon!
2- the number of Step Two sides Bridges defeated to reach that Final, Horsham and National League South Champions Worthing both ending up on the wrong end of a Bridges masterclass
2- Also the number of senior titles won by the club this season, with the Women’s team also coming out on top!
Many congratulations to all at the club on a fine campaign. We now wait to see who joins you at Step Three.
