Horlock is the new Chief Gull
Kevin Horlock takes the top job at Canvey Island
Canvey Island moved very quickly to replace the departed Garry Kimble, bringing in Kevin Horlock- who of course steered Maldon and Tiptree to the Pitching In Isthmian North title last season.
Horlock took charge of the Jammers in February 2025, and his side clinched the 25-26 title on goal difference. He departed the club in May.
He was previously in charge of the Jammers between 2016 and 2018, joining the club after spells as Assistant at Needham Market and as manager of Chatham Town.
He later spent four years managing Needham Market, taking them to promotion to National League North. As well as that promotion, his Marketmen reached the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy, first round proper of the FA Cup, and won the Suffolk Cup on four occasions. He also coached at Colchester United.
Prior to his managerial career, Kevin was a player of some repute. Something of a legend at Swindon Town and Manchester City, he also played for West Ham United and Ipswich Town, as well as more than thirty times for Northern Ireland.
