It could be more than a Good Friday for the Rams!

Ramsgate could clinch the title, Littlehampton could confirm survival, Becks could go level with Merstham, and we have five of the top six in action at the start of our Pitching In Isthmian South East weekend
Leaders Ramsgate have had a magnificent campaign, and look certain to step up to Step Three and put behind them two seasons which have ended with play off heartbreak- one of those against their hosts, Hythe Town. The Rams have already clocked up one hundred and five points- seven more than second place Sittingbourne who in any other season would surely have taken the title themselves- and have scored a colossal one hundred and nineteen goals so far; whilst the Cannons are playing only for pride after having relegation confirmed last weekend. That said, we’re sure their fans would be delighted if their side could rouse themselves and disrupt the celebrations of a set of local rivals! The match kicks off at 1PM.
With the exception of that Play Off penalty shootout win at the end of the 22-23 campaign, Hythe haven’t defeated the Rams in the League since December 2019.
Victory for the Rams would seal the title whatever happens to Sittingbourne- and the Brickies have a tricky match, with third place Burgess Hill Town making the trip. Sittingbourne will definitely have home advantage in any Play Off campaign, whilst Hill are almost assured of the same at the Semi-Final stage at least.
The Brickies are hoping for a sixth win in a row- and a Ramsgate slip up- and have kept a clean sheet in the last four, whilst Hill have won four of their last five and looked superb in hammering Deal Town four-nil last weekend. The match will be important to both sides as it will lay down a marker for any potential Play Off Final, perhaps bringing with it a psychological advantage of sorts. The last four meetings between the sides have seen Sittingbourne win three- the other ending level. The Brickies won their last meeting by two goals to nil. Kick off at 1PM.
Fourth place Margate are assured in a play off place, but will want to prepare for that by continuing their unbeaten run, which now stands at six matches. Gate welcome sixth place Beckenham Town, Becks three points behind fifth place Merstham and looking to go level on points with the Moatsiders- who travel to Erith Town on Saturday. Town need to put last weekend’s defeat against Littlehampton Town quickly behind them, whilst Gate look to do a double after defeating these opponents two-nil at Eden Park Avenue. Kick off is at 1PM.
Littlehampton Town have opened up an eight point advantage over Phoenix Sports in the race to avoid relegation, and with a much better goal difference surely a point as they entertain Ashford United would secure their Step Four status. The Golds have hit form at just the right time, and are five unbeaten- four wins; whilst United will be trying to forget their hammering by relegated Steyning Town last weekend- they were five unbeaten prior to that. United have won four of their last five meetings with Town. This one is scheduled to kick off at 3PM.
Steyning Town, fresh from scoring six in Ashford last weekend, are back on their own patch as they look to end their short Isthmian tenure in style. The Barrowmen welcome Sheppey United, who are comfortably in mid table and defeated these opponents two-nil in September- but the Ites might have more of a fight on their hands on this occasion if their relegated hosts can repeat last Saturday’s form. Kick off is at 1PM.
