Mitre Golden Gloves Awards- September 2025

We celebrate our best defences of September- and those who stand behind them
Thanks to sponsors Mitre, the following winners will be receiving a fine new pair of gloves!
Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played at least three of those to qualify!
Premier Division
Chatham Town had a superb September, and that success was built particularly on their miserly defence. The Chats started the month by defeating Wingate & Finchley to nil, and then moved on to defeat Cray Valley PM and Carshalton Athletic to one; three matches, nine points, eight goals scored and two conceded- a ratio which earns them our Golden Gloves Award. Henry Molyneux was between the sticks, and- whilst we don’t take this into account when giving out the award- Henry also kept goal in knockout wins over Beckenham Town, Ashford United and Deal Town, too, so September brought him six appearances and six victories. Congrats to Henry and to the mean machine standing ahead of him.
North Division
We headed to Felixstowe and Walton United with our Golden Gloves Award for August- and we’re heading back there again for September. Three League games, three wins, and not a single league goal conceded- we’d suggest that Harry Wright’s new Mitre gloves were the reason for his success, but he was obviously just as successful during August and he didn’t have them at that point!
Congrats to Harry and his fabulous defence- perhaps we’d better make an advance order for October! By the way, nine League matches so far, only two goals conceded- that really is rather special!
South Central Division
We’ve just been to the Skyex to bestow our Manager of the Month Award, and it seems we’re off there with some gloves, too! Four League matches during September brought a quartet of victories for Hayes and Yeading United, and it delivered nine goals at the right end, only two at the wrong end, and a perfect twelve points.
Aaron Watkins was the man behind that mean defence, and he gets not only our congratulations but a brand new pair of gloves courtesy of our sponsors.
South East Division
Faversham Town have had a magnificent return to our shores, and now, hot on the heels of our Performance of the Month Award, they’ve won our Golden Gloves Award too! The Lilywhites have conceded only five League goals so far this season- the best record of any South East side, and September brought two clean sheets out of three, and only one goal conceded. We can’t add in victories and clean sheets against Hastings United and Maidenhead United as they were in the Cup, but even if they can’t count towards this award they are certainly worth a mention!
Roshan Greensall was between the sticks for each of those League matches (and for the Maidenhead cup match), and has a fine pair of gloves speeding in his direction- we’ve no doubt he’ll catch those, too!
Thanks to Mitre for sponsoring our Golden Gloves awards.
Mitre, of course, have been delivering sporting innovation since 1817 -which, of course, makes them the oldest sporting equipment suppliers in the world. They’ve been working in partnership with the Isthmian League since 2017, when they began supplying both our balls and our benchware, and we are more than delighted that they’ve also added their support to these awards.
