We start our series with one of our new clubs, Little Oakley. Jack Bloom gives us his views
We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off. Jack Bloom starts this series, representing one of our new clubs.
Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?
Creating club history in winning the Essex Senior League title on the final day of the season.
And what was the worst moment?
Losing 2-1 at home to Sporting Bengal United, despite dominating the game an 88th minute winner nearly de-railed our season , it took a massive turnaround to get us back on track.
Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?
Luke Hipkin - 35+ goal contributions- need I say more? One of the main reasons why we won the Essex Senior League.
Moving on to your current squad - which players do you think will make a big impact during the 26/27 campaign?
Dylan Ketley- Gregan & Tobias Braney.
Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?
This season is all about survival, with it being our first ever season at step 4. It would be a great achievement to stay in a very competitive league.
If you could choose a song for your side to run our to, what would it be- and why?
Liquidator - I’m a Chelsea fan.
From all the opposition players you watched last season, which one would you love to see in your side- and why?
Kaleel Green. He scored 3 goals against us last season and is a complete striker. I would love to see him alongside Tobias.
What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?
From what I’ve seen Cambridge City’s looks top!
If you travelled away, which ground served the best food?
Halstead Town.
