Shepherd Neame Performance of the Month, August 2026

Shepherd Neame Performance of the Month, August 2026

Here are our first performance awards of the campaign - and four deserved winners

Our congratulations for some superb performances go to the following clubs:

Pitching In Isthmian Premier

On the opening day of the campaign Enfield Town, newly returned to us from National League South, headed to Sussex to take on Lewes. It looked like a tough task for the Towners, but they faced it with aplomb, and indeed were ahead within three minutes, Ayo Tanimowo scoring the opener. Midway through the first half Thomas Avgoustidis added a second, and it was three-nil to the visitors eleven minutes before half time, Luke Deslandes adding another.

The visitors still weren’t finished, Shiloh Remy adding a fourth just before the end- and we’ve decided that this performance deserves our plaudits. The fact that we ended the month with Town at the top and the Rooks only two points and two places behind them only goes to demonstrate what a fabulous win this was.

Pitching In Isthmian North

There were many fine performances worthy of our consideration across Pitching In Isthmian North, and from North Division sides in Cup competitions- but it isn’t often that someone scores ten goals in a match, and we’ve decided that those efforts need to be recognised.

Hashtag United have a one hundred percent record across their League fixtures- and indeed over all of their fixtures, as they’ve also been victorious in the FA Cup and the FA Trophy. We focus on that Cup tie- a match against Enfield which they won by ten goals to one.

Enfield are these days in the Spartan South Midlands Premier, and they travelled to face the Tags boosted by a comfortable win over FA Vase Finalists Cockfosters a few days beforehand- but what they had to come certainly wasn’t comfortable. The Tags provided some symmetry, scoring five goals before the break and another five after it, with two for Ellis Devereux, two for Misha Djemaili, two for Sam Park and two for Praise Ogbebor, and Harrison Day/Jamal Obeng adding numbers nine and ten.

Many congrats to all at the club.

Pitching In Isthmian South Central

Hendon have had a fine start to the season, and remain unbeaten. They’ve already given their supporters many moments to remember, and we suspect the most memorable so far would be the match we’ve chosen for our award, a seven-nil walloping on Raynes Park Vale.

It was three-nil at the break at Silver Jubilee Park, Nathan Braithwaite and a double from Radu Stefanoaica putting them in control, and it was to get worse for the visitors in the second half- a half which brought four different scorers, Isaac Currie, Ta’shae Andall-Gibbons, Reece Nicholas-Davies and Florian Ada also providing green delight.

Hendon won this award in September and October last year, and now they will have another trophy for their cabinet. Congrats to all at the club.

Pitching In Isthmian South East Division

Erith Town have had a magnificent start to the campaign, and indeed have a one hundred percent League record. To try and sum up just how good they’ve been, it’s worth pointing out that we had six performances nominated for this award, and the Dockers were the victors in three of them- a five-one win over Punjab United, a four-nil win over Sevenoaks Town, and a seven-three victory at Steyning Town. We’ve gone for that latter victory in Sussex on the opening day of the campaign, an FA Cup match which saw Erith rattle in goals from James Miles (2), Deven Reid-Solanki (2), Michael Arthey, Jonas Petkevicius and Tyler Anderson.

Our congratulations go to the fine folks at Bayliss Avenue. A trophy will follow shortly!
