Wassmer in for the Rocks

Defender Charlie Wassmer makes a Bognor debut in victory

Bognor Regis Town brought in defender Charlie Wassmer prior to victory over Ascot United and Saturday- and he was thrust immediately into the starting line up.

Wassmer first came to prominence whilst with Hayes and Yeading, his performances earning him a move to then National League leaders Crawley Town, where he was an important part of the Red Devils defence as they beat AFC Wimbledon to promotion to League Two. He began the following campaign in the Football League before being unfairly scapegoated by then Reds manager Steve Evans after a heavy defeat at Morecambe. He moved on to play for Fleetwood Town, Cambridge United, Margate at Woking, before spending time with Leatherhead during 2018-19.

Since then he has played for Billericay Town, Hampton and Richmond Borough, Hayes & Yeading again, and Gosport Borough, and moves to the Rocks from Midhurst and Easebourne of the SCFL.
