Uxbridge and Met get four, Chertsey and Hartley Wintney three, and we've wins for Marlow and Westfield on a South Central day of goals and more goals

Leaders Raynes Park Vale put their one hundred percent record on the line as Badshot Lea came to call- but knew that, come what may, they’d still be top on Saturday evening as they had a five point lead after five wins from their five matches. It had been a magnificent start for the hosts, but the travelling Baggies were also confident having finally found their South Central feet. The last five matches in League, Trophy and Cup had brought them five wins, fifteen goals scored and only four conceded- and they did the double over their hosts last season- so they’d have been quite comfortable in their surroundings and it showed when Kai Allsopp put them ahead after just ten minutes. The equaliser arrived soon afterwards, Jerry Nnamani with it, but the Baggies were ahead once more when Baback Dehgani scored immediately after the break. The hosts then went down to ten men, Louie Downey seeing red, and the visitors took advantage, Anuar Ceesay making it three-one. Eleven minutes from time the Baggies got another, Mohammed Regragui making it four-one, and there was still time for it to get worse for the hosts, who picked up another red card, Brad Sweeney departing eight minutes earlier than he’d have liked. There was still time for Baggies keeper Harry Cawdron to save a penalty.

Second place Leatherhead slipped up in the Velocity Cup in midweek, but still had an unbeaten League record as Thatcham Town came to call. The Tanners defeated the Kingfishers home and away last season, and were quickly ahead, Ollie Cook scoring after eight minutes. That was that until the break, but in the five minutes after the restart the Tanners made quite sure of three points by taking their tally to three, Trevan Robinson and Omarr Lawson with the second and third goals. Lawson added a fourth on sixty six minutes, and in added time it was five-nil, Kalani Barton ending the rout.

Uxbridge, in third, welcomed Northwood to Slough Town- but should be back in their own ground shortly, the 3G pitch almost finished. September had been rather an inconsistent month for them- but they started well, Brad Paglaroli putting them ahead on nine minutes. The hosts were two up on twenty minutes, Bernard Mensah Jr doubling the advantage, but the visitors hit back ten minutes after the restart, Dan Willians giving them hope. A third Uxbridge goal through Ezra Ndukuba restored their two goal cushion, but not for long, Sam Jenkins bringing it back to three-two with fifteen minutes remaining. The next goal was crucial, and it went to Uxbridge, Dean Morgan Plues making it four-two and effectively ending the contest with two minutes left.

Sutton Common Rovers, in fourth at kick off, were on the road to Ascot United. Both sides were involved in high-scoring Trophy matches last weekend, Rovers scoring three but conceding five, the Yellas hitting Lancing for six, but this one looked to be closer, and the opening goal took half an hour, Harry Grant scoring it for the hosts. With nineteen minutes remaining the visitors levelled, Conan Torpey scoring for the second Saturday in succession and ensuring that his side stay fourth- and that Rovers continue their record of scoring in every match.

South Park Reigate started the weekend in fifth, but were one of eight sides who knew they could end up as high as second place on Saturday evening. The Sparks had been in fine form, and took a five match winning streak to Westfield hoping to make it six- and they had the best possible start, Jamarie Brissett putting them ahead after just three minutes. The hosts have been fabulous in the Cup, and finally seemed to be bringing that form into the league when Archy Taylor levelled on sixty eight minutes, and then Jake Baxter put them ahead with only nine minutes left. That was that, the Woking side with their first league win, the visitors dropping to eighth.

Ashford Town found themselves just outside the top five at kick off, and the Tangerines knew that they could find themselves firmly inside the Play Off spots if they could defeat Chertsey Town- but they had a poor start, the Curfews ahead after just five minutes, Gianluca Botti scoring his fifth of the season- and for his third match in a row. Botti added another just before the break, and just after the hour Luke Robertson made it three- clinching a victory which sent the visitors fifth.

Chipstead hit the road, travelling to Imber Court to face Metropolitan Police. The Chips have had some fine moments this season, and delivered another in cup victory at Leatherhead in midweek, but had taken only one point from their previous two league matches and were looking for a second victory of the week on the road. They fell behind nine minutes before the break, Shkyler Burrowes with the goal for the boys in blue, and three minutes after the restart Met made it two, Kareem Akinibbi with that one. Akinibbi scored again nine minutes after the break, and then Burrowes completed a brace to make it four as the Chips had their…well, you know. Met climb out of the bottom three.

Marlow left on a jet plane and headed to Guernsey, having already defeated the Gatwick Air Traffic Controller shortage. But could they defeat the Green Lions? They went ahead eleven minutes from time, Rhys Harper with the opener. That turned out to be that, and Marlow are up to sixth.

Corinthian-Casuals were the hosts for Hartley Wintney for the second time this month, the visitors leaving King George’s Field with an FA Trophy victory three weeks ago. The visitors struck first once more, Taylor Morgan opening the scoring just before the break, and they struck again on forty eight minutes, Jayden Smith with that one. Five minutes from time Isaiah Blankendal made it three and ended a miserable afternoon for second bottom Casuals.

Southall welcomed Binfield. The All seemed to have lost their way a little of late, uncharacteristically falling to three defeats in a row in FA Cup, FA Trophy and Velocity Cup, but their opponents were in a far worse state, without a win in the league and without a win of any kind since August 18th, so it wasn’t much of a surprise when Anthony O’Connor put the hosts ahead on thirteen minutes. The advantage was doubled ten minutes later, Jaden Thompson-Brissett converting a spot kick, and just after half time William Montague made it three. Thompson-Brissett made it four on fifty six minutes, and the fifth wasn’t long in driving, Montague with that one- before O’Connor came the third player to take a brace, making it six-nil with nine minutes left. Michak Stanic-Stewart saw red for the Moles, alongside Kevin Songolo for the hosts, but it didn’t stop the goals, both Montague and Thompson-Brissett left to fight over the match ball after completing hat tricks. Final score- EIGHT-nil.

FA Cup

Horsham, newly strengthened, welcomed Pitching In Isthmian South Central side Hanworth Villa. The Hornets had already defeated two South Central sides to reach this stage- both after replays- and were six matches unbeaten, and they started well. There were only nine minutes on the clock when Jack Strange gave them the lead, but Villa, who travelled on the back of a three match winning streak, levelled just before the break, Sam Merson with his sixth of the campaign. The Hornets were soon ahead once more, Kadell Daniel restoring their lead, and twenty minutes from time Jack Bravo secured victory, making it three-one.
