Basset back with Athletic

Cray forward Danny Bassett returns to Carshalton Athletic

Carshalton Athletic have announced the return to the club of forward Danny Bassett, who reached the Pitching In Isthmian Premier play offs last season with Cray Wanderers.

Danny first moved came to our attention during a youthful spell with Staines Town, but it was whilst he was with Tooting & Mitcham United that he really came to prominence. He was already on twenty goals when the 2019-20 campaign crashed to an early covid-related end, which followed eighteen goals in the previous season. He'd had four seasons at Imperial Fields before Hampton & Richmond Borough came calling, and a period at Braintree Town followed, before he first signed for the Robins in the summer of 2021.

Twenty more goals arrived with Athletic during the 21-22 season, and last summer he moved on to Cray, where fifteen more goals arrived. Wands reacted to his departure thus:

'Thank you Danny Bassett for your season with the Wands. You were our top scorer and a massive part of the team which broke club records last season. We wish you all the best in your next adventure and we know your next club will be getting a top, top player.'
