Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Wingate & Finchley

We head to the art-deco world of Wingate and Finchley for our next supporter preview, courtesy of Colin Foster.

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Colin Foster, representing Wingate & Finchley.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

Tenashe Abrahams wonder goal from the halfway line against Hendon last year. It was the only goal of the game but what a way to secure us the points against one of our local rivals.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Losing the playoff semi-final against Bognor Regis in the last minute. We did so well to put ourselves into contention over the final weeks but any loss to a last minute goal is always gutting.

3. How will you do this season?

I think we will struggle to do as well as last season due to some big spending clubs, but I'd happy with top 10 finish.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to- and why?

I always look forward to the games which involve visiting new grounds for me. It also means meeting new fans across the league community.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

I actually quite like Burgess Hill. Home fans were friendly and accommodating and good to talk to and have a bit of banter with during and after the game.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

I would say it’s either Hendon, Enfield or Dulwich It’s always good to get one up over them and probably hurts more when you lose.

7. What advice would you give to an away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Bring a camera. We have probably one of the most iconic stands at this level. And also enjoy our humorous flags if we have them on display.

8. Who is your favourite player (for your club) of all time- and why?

Rob Laney. He never gives less than 100% for the entire 90 minutes, chasing down balls and trying to keep the team motivated. What more could you ask for as a fan.

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

Margate, Dulwich Hamlet, Billericay Town, Tonbridge Angels, Leiston
