Bracken and Akinwande for the Robins

Casuals legend and former Tonbridge and Billericay striker sign on at Carshalton Athletic

Carshalton Athletic had a genuine Pitching In Isthmian legend between the sticks as they defeated VCD Athletic in the FA Cup on Saturday, as former Corinthian-Casuals keeper Danny Bracken pulled on his gloves once more.

Danny left Casuals over the summer after more than five hundred appearances- and indeed will return there for a testimonial in his honour on October 9th (more about that here). He was with the club for more than twelve years, and was named the Isthmian South Division keeper of the year three times. He captained the side, and led it to promotion to our Premier Division.

Danny was joined in the side by Femi Akinwande. Forward Femi played youth football for Millwall and Dartford, and has much experience at our level and higher. His most recent clubs are Tonbridge Angels and Billericay Town- both at National League South level- and he has also turned out for the likes of Stevenage, Concord Rangers, East Thurrock United and Colchester United. he was a big part of the Haringey Borough squad which reached the First Round of the FA Cup during the 2018-19 season, before finishing the Premier Division season in third place.
