Brown for Canvey

Kai Brown makes Canvey Island debut

Canvey Island had a debutant on Saturday, as winger Kai Brown made his Gulls bow after joining the club on loan from Aveley.

Kai has only been with the Millers for a short time, signing on at the end of October after a scintillating start to the season at Basildon United, where he managed thirteen goals in the same number of matches.

He spent much of last season at Pitching In Isthmian South East Play Off winners Whitehawk and relegation fighters Burgess Hill Town.

Kai joined Hastings United last summer, but after six appearances and one goal headed along the coast to the Hawks, where he made another nineteen appearances and scored two more. He left the Enclosed Ground just before the 22-23 transfer window for Burgess Hill Town, where he played thirteen times as the Hillians scraped to safety.

He spent the 21-22 campaign with Grays Athletic, where he made thirty appearances and scored two goals.

Kai came to prominence at Athletic, making twenty seven appearances during the 2017-18 campaign despite being only sixteen years old. His form earned him a move to Ipswich Town, and he made a first team debut for the Tractor Boys, was a big part of their Under 23 squad, and also performed well in loan moves with Dagenham and Redbridge and Hemel Hempstead Town- as well as with East Thurrock United, for whom he played five times during 2019-20. He started the 21-22 season at Welling United.
