Cannons fire a four gun salute

A quartet of new arrivals at Hythe Town

Hythe Town have announced four new arrivals at Reachfields, as they begin to focus on the forthcoming season.

Midfielder Ethan Smith spent some time at Faversham Town and Sittingbourne last season, both on loan from Gillingham, and this time the move appears permanent.

Goalkeeper Aaron Lee-Wharton moves up in the world, signing from Tunbridge Wells, after previously turning out for Sheppey United and Ashford United.

Just in front of Aaron will be a new pair of centre backs.

Lex Allan moves over from Sittingbourne. Lex first became a Brickie's first team regular when he was only eighteen years old, back in the 2017-18 season. His form quickly attracted the attention of the likes of Millwall, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Birmingham City, but it was with the Brickies he remained, and he made twenty six appearances in that first campaign, twenty five more during 2018-19, and thirty five during 2019-20 before the world crashed down around our ears. He then spent time at Sheppey United before returning to the bricks.

Jack Steventon comes in from Ashford United. Jack played thirty nine times for the Nuts and Bolts last season, as they reached the Pitching In Isthmian South East Play Off Final, after starting the campaign with Hastings United but not playing at all.

He was previously with VCD Athletic, Herne Bay, Sittingbourne and Faversham Town.
