Cass is a Towner

Bishop's Stortford striker moves over to Enfield Town

Enfield Town last night announced the signing of Bishop's Stortford striker Jake Cass- or should we say former Bishop's Stortford striker, and the club announced the end of his time there last Friday, stating that his departure was amicable- which led the player to respond that he didn't want to go!

Whatever the reason for his departure, he is now a Towner, and boss Andy Leese told the club website:

“We are really pleased to get Jake on board. We feel we need to strengthen the squad right now with the schedule we have, and Jake coming available was too good an opportunity to miss.”

Jake returned to the club for a second spell in the summer. He was prolific in blue at the start of the 2018-19 season, his seven goals in nine matches earning him a move to a higher level. He then turned out for Braintree Town, Chesham United and Chelmsford City.

He was also rather prolific for Chalfont St Peter before first joining the Blues, and in addition he spent a short time with a very successful Maldon and Tiptree side just before 2019-20 came to an early end, scoring three goals in nine games including the winners at Tilbury and Histon.

This season he has scored fifteen goals, including hat tricks against Lowestoft Town in the Cup and Leatherhead in the league. he also scored in Stortford's win over his new club on November 16th.

His debut could come as quickly as this evening, as Town travel to Horsham.
