Chat's progress- can Rovers and Tanners do the same tonight

Velocity Cup action sees Chatham Town through to the Quarter Finals- and tonight Sutton Common Rovers and Leatherhead bid to join them

Chatham Town took on Sevenoaks Town in the Velocity Cup Fourth Round last night, and by the end the visiting fans were left rather like Blakey from On The Buses, yelling " I hate you, Butler" into the night, as Reece Butler ended their hopes of glory.*

(*By the way, if that reference is a little old for you, please ask your grandparents!)

Butler headed home the opening goal on thirty nine minutes, and grabbed his second with thirteen minutes left to ensure his promotion chasers advanced to welcome Carshalton Athletic in the Quarter Finals.

Tonight all roads lead to Whyteleafe, as Sutton Common Rovers host Leatherhead in an all Pitching In Isthmian South Central tie. It might be a close one; the two clubs are tied on sixteen points just outside of the bottom four, the Tanners ahead of their hosts only on goal difference. They meet again in the league on Monday 2nd January.

To reach this stage the Tanners knocked out East Grinstead Town and Kingstonian, whilst Rovers defeated Three Bridges and Binfield. The winners travel to Pitching In Isthmian Premier promotion chasers Aveley in the next round.
