Curfews lead cut to eight points as Tanners come from behind to win

Leaders Chertsey Town travelled to Thatcham Town looking to at least maintain their ten point lead at the top- and to reach ninety points for the season. The Curfews went ahead after ten minutes, the visiting fans witnessing the regular sight of Gianluca Botti finding the net, but the Kingfishers got back into the match ten minutes into the second half, Jordi Ebanda keeping his cool from the spot. That was how it ended, and the Curfews lead is cut to eight points.

With Marlow’s match at Hartley Wintney postponed, Leatherhead had the chance to go second with victory at Corinthian-Casuals, but our bottom side looked to have other ideas. The hosts went ahead on thirteen minutes, Aderi Arthur-Dede with his sixth goal in nine matches- and an injury to visiting keeper Amadou Tangara five minutes later saw Harvey Keogh emerge from the bench to make his debut. Twenty minutes later Keogh was picking the ball out of the net, Frazier Osunkoya making it two-nil, but the Tanners gave their fans hope in first half added time, Ollie Cook moving up from the back to half the arrears. That should have been a warning to the hosts, but eight minutes into the second half Cook repeated the feat to level the match, and three minutes from time the Tanners turned defeat into victory, Gus Sow scoring from the spot. They climb to second, eight points behind the leaders.

Raynes Park Vale travelled to Sutton Common Rovers hoping to extend their lead over sixth place Westfield, and they took the lead midway through the first half, Jordan Gallagher scoring his twenty fourth goal of the campaign. Gallagher had another on sixty five minutes, and things got worse for Rovers soon afterwards when Daryl Coleman saw red. The hosts did get a goal back, Oscar Williams scoring six minutes into added time, but it was too little, too late, as Vale stay fourth- and remain four points cleat of sixth place Westfield.

Southall, in fifth, were only three points ahead of sixth place Westfield- the Woking side with a game in hand- so very much needed victory over Northwood. The All fell behind nine minutes before the break, Dan Williams putting the Woods ahead, but they levelled thirteen minutes from time, Jaden Thompson-Brissett getting his thirty first of the season. In added time the hosts grabbed a winner, Brendan Matthew with it, to maintain that three point margin between themselves and sixth place.

Westfield (pictured, courtesy of the club) welcomed Met Police and were rather focused on taking three points to boost their play off hopes. They went ahead on sixteen minutes, Jamarie Brissett with his third goal in five matches for the club, and doubled their advantage nineteen minutes from time, Manolis Gogonas with their second. That was that, the Woking side still three points away from the top five.

South Park Reigate welcomed relegation-threatened Chipstead, the Chips having seen their lead over second bottom Binfield cut to seven points with the Moles having three games in hand. It was the Sparks who broke the deadlock after just four minutes, Brendan Murphy-McVey with the opener, and the next goal took seventy five minutes to arrive, the Chips levelling through Jack Leahy. The match was level for only three minutes before Courtney Swaby restored the hosts lead, and this time they held it, ending the day in seventh. Binfield will be delighted, as the seven point gap they have to make up now comes with four games in hand- the first of which comes at Badshot Lea on Tuesday.

Uxbridge had won five of their previous six so were undoubtedly confident of another victory when Andrio Brandao put them ahead at Ascot United, but they were behind by the break, Liam Tack scoring on thirty one minutes and in first half added time to put the Yellas in front. The visitors levelled the match nine minutes into the second half, Alex Witham with the equaliser, and that’s where the scoring stopped. The Yellas seemed really rather attracted to yellow, they picked up eight yellow cards.
