Dawes new at Whitehawk

Former Worthing and Hastings man Lloyd Dawes makes his Whitehawk debut

Whitehawk had a second half debutant six minutes before the end of their draw at Cray Wanderers last night, and he had a rather speedy impact, setting up Ben Pope for an equalising goal deep into added time.

Lloyd Dawes has spent most of his career with the Worthing, and was regularly prolific in front of goal, with a record of almost a goal every two games between 2014 and 2017, when he departed to make the step up to the National League South and sign for Eastbourne Borough. He also had a very, very short spell with Lewes in 2016-17, scoring a goal a game, but was soon back at Woodside Road.

His time at Eastbourne was beset by injuries and setbacks, and he headed back to Worthing for the 19-20 season, making thirty appearances- many as an attacking midfielder rather than a striker- and scoring nine goals. He then moved on to Hastings United, managing one appearance right at the end of the extremely short 20-21 campaign and another fourteen- with three goals- during an injury hit 21-22. He managed four more United appearances last season.
