Double Gulls

By Ian Townsend

Jack Munns and Max Jobson are new at Canvey Island

Canvey Island last night introduced two new arrivals- although one of them had already been introduced to the Gulls faithful on Tuesday evening, when he emerged from the bench in victory over Cray Wanderers.

Max Jobson was that substitute, coming in from Benfleet after a short trial. We believe him to be a striker, but we look forward to finding out more about him- although as well as Benfleet we think he might have spent time with Rayleigh Town, unless there are two players with the same name!

The other arrival we know much more about, as midfielder Jack Munns makes the move from Chatham Town.

Jack started the campaign with the Chats after signing from Hornchurch, and made four appearances with one goal.

Jack became an Urchin last September, and made twenty two appearances- with three goals- last season, before heading off to play for Concord Rangers. He returned to Hornchurch in the summer, but left for Chatham without making another appearance.

Jack was a youth with Tottenham Hotspur, moving on to Charlton Athletic after a short loan spell with Aldershot Town. His professional breakthrough came later, with Cheltenham Town, and after departing the Robins he spent time in the land of the Monkey Hangers, Hartlepool United.

After spending a short while jumping up and down in an attempt to keep warm (we've been to Hartlepool) he decided that blue wasn't a natural colour for skin and moved south once more, joining Dagenham and Redbridge. Since leaving the Daggers he has turned out for Dover Athletic, Boreham Wood and Billericay Town before his initial move to Bridge Avenue.
