Double Terrors!

Dan Purdue and Manu Oke-William make Tooting & Mitcham United debuts

Tooting & Mitcham United had two debutants in Saturday's defeat against Pitching In Isthmian South Central leaders Northwood.

Dan Purdue, a goalkeeper, has most recently been with Pitching In Isthmian South East promotion chasers Whitehawk, albeit not for long. Dan started this season in Pitching In Isthmian South Central, where he turned out for Sutton Common Rovers. He made five appearances for the club in total.

Dan first came to our notice in November 2017, when, as the Under 18 keeper for Hendon, he was drafted into the first team for his debut when their first choice keeper got the flu. The match, an FA Cup tie against Slough Town, went to penalties- and rookie Dan made sure that the Greens progressed by saving two of them.

He made a dozen appearances for Chalfont St Peter at the start of the 2019-20 campaign, and went on to play for Burgess Hill Town and Harrow Borough. He spent most of last season at Northwood, playing eighteen times.

Manu Oke-William, a centre back, started his career in Germany where he turned out for the city club of Munich (Bayern are the state club), 1860. He also played for Starnberg whilst in Germany, but he moved to the UK to study at Loughborough University, playing for Loughborough Dynamo before joining North Greenford United, Wembley, and- most recently- FC Romania. Apparently he has size fifteen feet!
