Eddy Bray

We mourn the loss of another great Isthmian

We have been advised that former Isthmian League Secretary Eddy Bray passed away last week, at the age of 92.

Eddy was a stalwart of the Isthmian League, and our Secretary during the 1970's. He was first a referee, officiating at an FA Amateur Cup Semi-Final at Stamford Bridge, and then became Assistant Referee's Secretary and then Referee's Secretary for the League, before stepping up to combine his refereeing role with a place on our board, where he served under Chairman Barry East.

Our current Chairman, Nick Robinson, remembers him with affection.

"I remember Eddy from the period when I was the Secretary at Dulwich Hamlet, and joined the League Council. He was extremely hard working, combining several roles; a gentleman and a dedicated Isthmian- we have lost a man who was a great servant to our league and to the game in general."

All at the Isthmian League would like to pass our best wishes and condolences to Eddy's family and friends at this sad time.
