Former Brentwood boy in a different blue

Junior Velasquez is new at Billericay Town

Billericay Town have announced the signing of Junior Velasquez, who ended last season with Brentwood Town.

Junior, a defender, played for Woodford Town before making the step up to Sutton United, where he played for the reserve side. If Transfer Markt is correct, he somehow ended up leaving United for Venezuela, playing for Caracas, and then had time in Portugal with Farense in the Algarve before returning to our shores and becoming a Brentwood blue.

He spent time in the successful Under 21 side before stepping up to the first team squad, and played eight times during the last six weeks of last season.

Aged only twenty one, he will hope to be a big asset to the promotion-chasing Blues, and was on the bench on Saturday as they defeated Kingstonian.
