Former Worthing, Merstham and Bognor forward arrives at Invicta

Shola Ayoola signs on for the Stripes

Folkestone Invicta have announced the signing of forward Shola Ayoola.

Shola was a youth player at Stoke City before leaving the Potteries in June 2018. He spent a year plying his trade in the USA, before returning to join Worthing in the summer of 2019, where he made fifteen appearances scoring two goals.

He moved on to Merstham- and played sixteen times, with seven goals, before the pandemic brought the 2019-20 season to a premature end. Last season he was back in our ranks, playing half a dozen times for Bognor Regis Town towards the end of the campaign.

Invicta boss Micheal Everitt, speaking on social media, explained:

“Shola is a player we have come up against in the past, so we know what he is capable of, but he’s had some back luck and hasn’t had a lot of football recently. He trained with us last week and we look forward to seeing him in action.”
