Fourth v Second as Stoke and Swans look to narrow the Northwood gap!

By Ian Townsend

We’ve only two matches beat the weather in Pitching In Isthmian South Central- so all roads (and one plane) head to Basingstoke Town and Guernsey

The weather has got the better of our South Central programme, but we do have two matches- and one of them is very important at the top end of the table.

It appears that Basingstoke has its own thermal heating, as Town host Walton & Hersham at 3PM. A point separates the two sides at start of play- although Stoke have a game in hand. The Swans, four points behind the leaders, have been in indifferent form of late; indeed their last ten matches have followed a L-W pattern which their hosts today would like to continue for another week. Town, in contrast, are in their best form of the season, and have won their last five matches- and given they are five points behind Northwood with two games in hand a win today could prove vital.

Guernsey will continue to look for their first home win of the season as Hanworth Villa fly in. The Green Lions have been severely injury hit and are on a terrible run, and have conceded fourteen goals in their last two matches, losing eight-nil to Basingstoke Town and six-nil against Walton & Hersham. Villa, in contrast, have only lost one of their previous eight- and have only lost once on the road all season.
