George swaps his boots for running shoes

Brightlingsea Regent defender Andy George is running for charity- the Edinburgh Marathon awaits! Here's how you can support him- and The Samaritans

Brightlingsea Regent defender Andy George is used to having to run around quite a lot- but his latest venture will see him have to manage twenty six miles and three hundred and eighty five yards (that's forty two and a bit kilometers if you only work in post-decimal currency).

Andy, who has played ten matches this season, joined Regent in November 2021 from White Ensign- along with a great collection of his team mates. He plans to head north of the border and run the Edinburgh Marathon in May, and is raising money for a fine charity, The Samaritans. Set a target of five hundred pounds, he has already nearly doubled that- but there's plenty of time for you to add a donation.

If you'd like to help, head here. Don't worry, when we say help, we're only suggesting you put your hand in your pocket, we're not asking you to run!

The best of luck to Andy in his endeavours.
