Golden Gloves winner moves to Merstham

By Ian Townsend

On Saturday we announced Patrik Ohman as our South East AB1 Goalkeeping golden gloves winner. Within hours he was making his Merstham debut!

On Saturday morning Faversham Town goalkeeper Patrik Ohman was receiving our plaudits after keeping a clean sheet for the entire month of February. By Saturday afternoon he was making his debut at the step above, keeping goal for Merstham as they defeated Leatherhead. He made his second appearance on Tuesday night, in narrow defeat to Cheshunt, and the Moatsiders then announced him as a signing!

Patrik, who has both Swedish and Australian citizenship so must be a fan of both Abba and Kylie Minogue (we prefer Roxette and Men at Work), started his career in Sweden before heading to our shores and playing for Egham Town. Since his time as a Sarnie he has tuned out for the likes of Chelmsford City, Bishop's Stortford, Carshalton Athletic, Hendon, Hungerford Town, Braintree Town and Margate.

He has made seventeen appearances for the Lilywhites this season.
