Grays Athletic start a manager search

Grays Athletic announced last night that they had parted company with manager Mark Stimson.

A statement explained:

'Grays Athletic Football Club can confirm that we have decided to part company with Manager Mark Stimson and his coaching team.

Sadly, despite the incredible work Mark and his coaching team have put into the club since rejoining us in the summer, results and performances haven't been at the level anyone expected or wanted.

The Board will now look to appoint a new men's first team Manager in due course. Further details will be released when the club are in a position to release them.'

Mark returned to Athletic in the summer, rejoining the club he steered to two FA Trophy wins and a Conference South title after leaving Hornchurch, where he again won the FA Trophy and reached two consecutive Play Off Finals. Sadly he has been unable to make an immediate impact, with Athletic in eighteenth place in Pitching In Isthmian North and still without a league win.
