Gulls with moustaches

Players and staff at Canvey Island collectively embrace Movember

If you arrive at the Movie Starr Stadium later this month and find yourself wondering why everyone seems to have underlined their nose, don't worry, it isn't a new cult where Islanders worship Tom Selleck. Instead our fabulous Canvey Island players and first team staff have all made a commitment to support Movember, raising money to support and promote improvements in mens health.

The Movember movement particularly focuses on mental health, prostate and testicular cancer, and this is its twentieth year. Since its inception it has, for example, achieved the following:

  • Funded the development of fifty four inventions, seventy therapies and one hundred and seven diagnostic tests for prostate cancer
  • Changed and saved many lives through the development of community led mental health projects
  • Funded over one thousand, two hundred and fifty mens health projects across twenty three countries.

More than five million people have taken part in November over the last twenty years, and the Gulls will add to that total.

If you can donate, then please do. Just follow this link and give what you can.

Well done to the Gulls, we're proud of you!
