Hashtag Halford

By Ian Townsend

Former Forest, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Cardiff and Colchester utility man Greg becomes a Tag

Hashtag United announced the signing of experienced professional forward/centre back/midfielder (he appears to have played everywhere but in goal) Greg Halford on Saturday- and then gave him a debut against Stowmarket Town. Sadly he scored an own goal, but we suspect he'll go on to be a real asset as the Tags push for promotion.

Greg started his career with Colchester United, and was a regular there for five years. He moved to the Premier League with Reading and then Sunderland, and then Wolves, before moving to the Championship to join Portsmouth. Nottingham Forest was his next stop as Pompey ran into financial trouble, and amongst his next stops were Brighton & Hove Albion, Rotherham United and Cardiff City.

He spent some time with Billericay Town at the end of last season.
