Kingstonian have announced the departure of manager Tutu Henriques.
In a statement, they explain:
'The club would like to thank Tutu for agreeing to step in when we need him the most - since then, his commitment to the cause has been unwavering; he has demonstrated fantastic effort, energy, enthusiasm and professionalism, overseeing fantastic and memorable victories against Bognor Regis Town and Dulwich Hamlet, plus creditable draws against Enfield Town and Cheshunt.
The Board of Directors would like to thank Tutu for agreeing to step in when he did, and overseeing this undeniably very difficult spell as manager of our club. He's been an absolute pleasure to work with, he's a real football man, an extremely dedicated and committed individual, but above all he's a gentleman who has conducted himself brilliantly throughout his short spell as our manager and embraced the challenge. We part on fantastic terms and have left it that should it work for both parties moving forward, Tutu could remain as part of our new management team. '
Tutu, a former player with the likes of Merstham, Carshalton Athletic, Bromley and the K's, stepped into the Assistant role under Hayden Bird at the Moatsiders, and then moved over to the K's with his now former boss. He has also spent time at Leatherhead, and returned to the K's to become Assistant under Simon Lane in November last year, taking over at the top after Lane's decision to depart in the early stages of this year. He was initially announced in a caretaker role, and then formally given the job in February.
The club have promised that a new manager will be announced today- so we'll bring you that news in the morning. As a reminder, the club will be sharing with Raynes Park Vale next season.
