Highlights: Billericay Town 2 Chatham Town 0

Another home win sees the Blues climb to second

With an eleven point gap between leaders Hornchurch and the chasing pack, both Chatham Town and Billericay Town were desperate for three points to eat into that lead- and the Blues got them, moving into second place with victory over the Chats at New Lodge.

The Blues were eight games unbeaten on their own patch- with six wins- coming into the game, whilst their visitors had been better on the road than on their own patch, losing only one of their ten matches on their travels so far this season. On that basis we expected the game to be quite tight, but as it turned out Billericay had it just about wrapped up within a quarter of an hour. On eleven minutes a poor clearance fell to Richard Asamoah, who simply chipped it over the keeper into the net. And just four minutes later the lead was doubled, Moses Emmanuel keeping his cool to finish expertly when played through. The Blues found the crossbar twice as the game progressed, but their lead was never really threatened.
