The Blues run riot on a grey day for Cray

Billericay Town have been superb in defence all season long, and our fourth place Blues were tied for the best backline in the Division at kick off, alongside the leaders. At the other end, however, they’d scored significantly fewer goals than the rest of the top six, but they had won their last three and were quickly ahead against Cray Wanderers at New Lodge, Jay Porter opening the scoring on six minutes. The Blues added a second ten minutes before half time, Alfie Cerulli making it two-nil, and it looked to be game over when Cerulli added another for the Blues just before the break. It was certainly over when Frankie Merrifield made it it four-nil on the hour. It was five when Bradley Stevenson got into the act with twenty minutes left, and Cerulli completed a hat trick and made it six-nil six minutes later. The hosts saw Lewis Ramsey dismissed right at the end, but it made little difference.
