Highlights: Cheshunt 5 Kingstonian 4

A nine goal thriller- with an Amber outcome

The match between Cheshunt and Kingstonian was between two sides who had been conceding far too many goals for their liking. We weren’t, therefore, expecting a goalless draw, but we suspect that nobody would have expected a nine goal thriller (unless you’re a defensive coach, at which point it probably resembled a horror show). It all started so well for the K’s, Eddie Dsane giving them the lead from the spot on thirteen minutes and Mason Saunders-Henry doubling the advantage twelve minutes later, but at that point the Ambers got going and were level within a quarter of an hour, Nathaniel Orafu with both goals. After twenty seven unusually goalless minutes the hosts went ahead for the first time, Andre Godfrinne making it three-two, only for Andy Somo’s eighth of the campaign to make it three-all. With eighteen minutes remaining the Ambers were ahead agin, Antonis Vasiliou making it four-three, and five minutes from time Cheshunt added a fifth, Godfrinne once more- but the K’s pulled it back to five-four with three minutes left, Lion Bello giving them hope. Sadly for the travelling fans that hope was to remain unfulfilled, and they remain in the bottom four, the Ambers just above them but now four points clear.
