Wands unbeaten home run continues- but they had to come from behind to take a point

In Pitching In Isthmian Premier on Sunday, Cray Wanderers welcomed Concord Rangers to Hayes Lane. Wands started the day ten points above the bottom four, whilst the visiting Beachboys found themselves five points away from safety and trying to escape. Both sides have become rather difficult to defeat- prior to the match the hosts had lost only two of their previous nine, and not at all at home since October 15th, whilst the visitors had only three defeats from their previous nine, which was clearly not relegation form- so we expected that this one might be close, and so it turned out. It was the visitors who broke the deadlock, Ricky Modeste opening the scoring with a header with twenty four minutes to go, but the equaliser arrived eleven minutes later, Anthony Cook fouled, picking himself up, and converting the spot kick.

Wands move up to sixteenth, whilst their visitors are twentieth- but their form gives them hope, five points from safety with four games in hand.
