Highlights: Folkestone Invicta 1 Whitehawk 1

The Hawks strike first- but the Stripes strike back

We had a seaside special as Folkestone Invicta welcomed Whitehawk. Invicta’s good form had deserted them a little lately, a five-nil County Cup defeat against Chatham Town followed by a home FA Cup defeat by local rivals Margate in midweek. The Hawks, in contrast, hadn’t lost since the opening day and had won five of their previous six, and the visitors went ahead on twenty five minutes as Charlie Walker converted from the spot- his sixth goal of the season. Invicta levelled eleven minutes before the break through David Smith, delighting the majority of the seven hundred and twenty five watching on, and the second half saw no change to the scoreline.
