Grays Athletic welcomed Witham Town to Tilbury. Athletic had only won one of their previous six, losing the other five, whilst Town would have been confident after their demolition of Heybridge Swifts on Friday, but it was the hosts who broke the deadlock on fourteen minutes, Kien Connolly holding his nerve from the spot. Town levelled eleven minutes before half time, Josh Osude making it seven goals in eight matches, but twenty five minutes from time Billy Crook restored Athletic’s lead. The next goal was critical, and it went to the hosts, Charlie Stimson sealing victory and making it three-one a minute from time, a result which lifts Athletic to seventeenth.
