Leaders Lowestoft Town welcomed neighbours Gorleston and it seemed, in the first half at least, as if they’d take another three points and maintain their six point lead, as Jake Reed gave them a thirty third minute lead with his twenty second goal of the season. They held that lead until twenty minutes into the second half, when the Greens, who had gone five games without a win, levelled through Craig Parker. With only sixteen minutes left Reed looked to have won it for the hosts, and indeed it looked that way until three minutes from time, when Gorleston levelled again- Adam Tann making it two-two. Was their time for a Town winner? There wasn’t, but there was time for the Gorleston to ruin the Lowestoft new year party, as right at the end Craig Parker popped up to pain the town green! Gorleston climb to tenth.
