Highlights: Northwood v Cray Valley PM

By Ian Townsend

A fabulous Cup match ends level at the Skyline Stadium- and the replay is even more exciting, the Millers eventually taking the triumph

Northwood played host to Cray Valley PM. The Woods had shown some fine form this season and had beaten every opponent but one, but that defeat came against Pitching In Isthmian South East opposition, and they were quickly behind against another South East side, Kyrell Lisbie opening the scoring. Rather incredibly, Lisbie was scoring for his seventh match in a row. The Woods quickly hit back, Riccardo Alexander-Greenaway with the equaliser. The Millers restored their lead midway through the half, Freddie Parker making it two-one, and held it until just before the hour, when Dan Williams levelled for the hosts. The match ended with two red cards, Woods keeper Andrew McCorkell and the Millers Jensen Grant sent off, and they were off to kent for a Replay.

You can watch the highlights below.

On Tuesday night Cray Valley PM, unbeaten in all competitions, put that record on the line once more against a Northwood side who had lost only once this season- and the two sides delivered seven goals between them in a match full of twists and turns. The hosts took only eight minutes to go ahead, Matthew Vigor with his fourth of the season, but the Woods levelled eleven minutes before the break through Harry Gallagher, and just after the hour mark Gallagher put them ahead, taking his tally for the campaign to four, too. With only ten minutes left the Millers got an equaliser through Sonny Black, and just two minutes later Denzel Gayle popped up to put them ahead, but the visitors weren't giving up and it took only two more minutes for Luke Tingey to equalise. Into extra time we went, and on ninety nine minutes Adam Coombes delivered the footballing equivalent of a ninety nine, adding the flake and strawberry sauce to a fine Cup tie with a winning goal for the hosts. Brackley Town will head to Kent in the next round.
