It's Cup Final Monday!

Metropolitan Police and Woking contest our Isthmian League Youth League Cup Final at South Park Reigate this evening

Monday doesn’t often bring Isthmian football, but tonight is rather different, as some stars of the future kick off at South Park Reigate in the Isthmian League Youth Cup Final.

The match, between Metropolitan Police and Woking, kicks off at 7.30 PM. The two sides are both from our Youth Central Division- and the young Cards must be the favourites. The Woking side are currently challenging for the league title, three points behind leaders Kingstonian with a game in hand and yet to lose a league match all season. The boys in Blue are in mid table and were defeated by tonights opponents as recently as March 30th, losing by five goals to one.

To reach the Final, the Cards needed a penalty shootout to defeat Cray Valley PM in the Semi-Final after a one-one draw- a match which saw them score first through Jack Matton and then play the last hour with ten men after a red card. To reach that stage had already defeated Horsham, Burgess Hill Town, Worthing and Bognor Regis Town. Met defeated Northwood four-two in the Semi-Final, coming from two goals down to do so with goals from James Nott, Igor De Oliveira Souza (2) and Ben Boxall. Met have also defeated Bedfont Sports and Camberley Town en route to the Final, starting a round later than their opponents.

Players to look out for include Louis Degand for Met, scorer of thirteen goals this season (three from the spot) and a regular part of the first team squad in Pitching In Southern Premier, and, at the other end, Ameron Subramaniam who has ten from open play. Four of Degand’s goals came in this competition, although team mate Jamal Sharp also has four- many of Met’s best performances this season have come as they've progressed to this final.

We hope to see you there!
