It’s South Central Play Off Wednesday!

We’re down by the river, as Marlow and Leatherhead welcome Westfield and Southall for a place in Sunday’s Final

Marlow have been our great entertainers this season, scoring more goals than any other side across the Pitching In Isthmian League- only South East side Ramsgate matching their strike rate. Our second place side have won eight of their last ten fixtures, losing only to champions Chertsey Town and…visitors Westfield, which will give the Woking side a great deal of confidence, and the hosts a speedy chance of revenge, that defeat coming just over two weeks ago. Field make the journey having won their last seven matches, and seemingly having some kind of hold over their hosts, having not just defeated them once this season, but three times, also knocking them out of the FA Trophy and defeating them three-two in their home league encounter.

Marlow ended the season six points clear of their visitors, and the encounters between the two sides have always been rather close. The last thirteen meetings between the sides have seen six wins each, and only one draw.

Leatherhead, who ended the campaign in third place, head into the play offs with the accolade of having the best defence in the league, an achievement they share with South East champions Cray Valley PM. Their visitors, Southall, ended the season only three points further back, and are in fine form, having won their last seven matches- including a one-nil win over the Tanners earlier this month- and the sides have met three times, the Tanners triumphing on the opening day and knocking The All out of the FA Trophy in September. Leatherhead have only two defeats from ten, and will be looking for revenge for that most recent loss to today’s opponents.

Both matches kick off at 7.45 PM, and the winners will meet in the Final on Sunday afternoon- at the home of the highest placed side.
