Keeper Phillips for the Cannons

By Ian Townsend

Hythe Town give a debut to new stopper Steve Phillips

Hythe named Steve Phillips between the sticks for their match at Sittingbourne last night, and the keeper would have been delighted to start his ownership of the number one shirt with a victory.

Steve has most recently been playing with SCFL side East Preston, but will be best known to Isthmian watchers for his time with Phoenix Sports. He made thirty six appearances for Sports in Pitching In Isthmian South East last season, and was at the Mayplace Ground for seven years, attaining legendary status. He has also turned out for Wick, Selsey, Worthing United, Alresford Town, Erith Town, and very briefly- one match, so far as we can see- for Horsham.
