K's announce managerial departure

By Ian Townsend

Kingstonian's difficulties continue, as Wednesday brings defeat by Margate and the impending departure of boss Spencer Knight

Second half goals from Ben Greenhalgh and Nathan Wood earned Margate a vital win at Kingstonian last night- and the K's night then got even worse with the announcement that manager Spencer Knight was to leave as soon as a replacement had been found.

In a statement, Knight explained:

'A fantastic opportunity has arisen in my day job to take up a role overseas and it is one that, after long consideration with my family, we have decided to accept.

I will be taking up this role in March which, of course, will make my job at Kingstonian untenable.

However, I have offered to continue to manage the team whilst the Club look to recruit and appoint a new manager, and the offer has been accepted.'

Knight has been in charge since mid November, a period in which the K's have played ten league matches and win only one- a run which sees them currently one point and one place above the bottom four.

The K's have already advertised for a new boss, and you can read more about that by heading here.
