Aaron Lamont makes a Merstham move

Merstham announced a new signing a few days ago, and we missed it, so here we are, catching up!

Midfielder Aaron Lamont signed on at the Moatsiders after departing Pitching In Isthmian South Central promotion chasers Raynes Park Vale.

Aaron was only with Vale for a relatively short time, although he did play for them last season too, a big part of the promotion winning side. His latest spell saw him play seven times, culminating in defeat against Chertsey Town on January 13th.

Prior to returning to Vale, Aaron was with Carshalton Athletic. He made fifteen appearances with the Robins, and scored three goals. He signed for Leatherhead in January 2022, and made nineteen appearances as the Tanners narrowly failed to hold onto their Pitching In Isthmian Premier status

The midfielder came through the youth setup at Queens Park Rangers, from where he moved to Hampton and Richmond Borough, and had three spells at Kingstonian which were interspersed with spells at Truro City, Braintree Town and our former orange favourites Walton Casuals. He also had a period with Ramsgate which saw him play twenty two times during the 2019-20 season, and spent part of that 19-20 campaign as a Moatsider, playing eight times.
