Cannons Wood replace Grays Athletic as tenants at Parkside

Aveley have announced that they will share Parkside next season with Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League side Cannons Wood.

Wood step in to replace Grays Athletic, who are moving out to share with local rivals Tilbury next season.

Wood, who were previously sharing with Harlow Town but saw that arrangement terminated due to the Hawks pitch issues, released the following statement:

'We can confirm that the 2023/24 season and beyond Cannons Wood FC will be ground-sharing with Aveley Football Club. This agreement will secure the club's future and allow us to build on our recent success. It will now help and provide the team with a foundation to be even more successful on the pitch whilst helping us commercially and maximising sponsorships. We want to build a foundation with the local community and Aveley in forming a partnership that works both on and off the pitch. We want to thank everyone involved for all their help in making this happen. It's an exciting move for the club and one that we cannot wait to get started.'

Cannons Wood are currently in tenth place in Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Division One South. The club were only formed in 2019, and on the way to their present position have already won two cup finals and one promotion.
